Leupold Mark 4 CQ/T
multi - 1-3x - USA - AR15/multi

Developed and sold by Leupold as the Mark 4 CQ/T 1-3x14mm starting in the early 2000s, the scope attempted to combine the features of a red dot and low power scope in one package. While in the 2020s the idea of the LPVO is widespread at the time few scopes intended for military use existed in this catagory.

The scope has an eleven position illumination dial that is powered by a single AA battery. Leupold claimed battery life was 600+ hours on a medium setting or 7 hours on the highest setting. Eye relief was designed with the M16/M4 length of pull in mind. A more robust version featuring additional waterproofing, a proprietrary DiamondCoat external lens coating, and a Multicoat 4 coating on internal lens surfaces was offered for special contracts (Bartocci, 2004).

While it did achieve some sales seeing use by multiple US military branchs and with police forces in multiple countries during the mid to late 2000s, the the Mark 4 CQ/T never achieved the success of other sights of its era like the ACOG, Eotech and Aimpoint.
